From the Tyndale Fellowship Trustees:
We are writing to share with you the sad news of the death of Prof. Alan Millard. Alan was a long term member of Tyndale Fellowship whose work for us is fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was chair of the Biblical Archaeology Study Group for many years and also a Tyndale Lecturer. Among other obituaries for Alan, this fine one was shared by our friends at Tyndale House. With them, we give thanks for Alan as a committed Christian and a fine and influential scholar.

Alan Millard, one year senior to me, was my much-cherished friend and colleague over six decades. It was a joy to entertain him here in Vancouver not so long ago. One of Sir Godfrey Driver’s most distinguished students, he remained an excellent Hebraist all his academic life. That greatest of Semitists termed his emendation of MT at Ez. 27:19 “one of the most certain ever.” I am always glad to have been able to incorporate it in my own work on the Septuagint, or more precisely the Old Greek, of Ez. 1-39.
